National Lampoon's Vacation Analysis
There is a classic 1980’s movie called “National Lampoon’s Vacation.” The dad has a brilliant idea to pack up his wife and two kids in the back of their station wagon and drive across the country to Wally World theme park. The trip was nothing liked it was planned to be, but the gave the family a chance to be together and bond. And with that kind of movie spirit my dad decided we were going to take our own little family vacation. Except this time there are seven family members packed into an undersized mini van driving up to our nations capital. I had waited thirty minutes in the sun with my family to only be kicked out after five. Near the end of our D.C. trip my dad wanted us to go see the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution at The National Achieves. Before entering the building the staff stressed to each in ever person taking a picture of the articles to turn the flash off. Noah and I had our new digital cameras that my mom had let us borrow for the trip. We were the first in line when leading our family by each individual article. We only made it half way through the room when Noah reached the Constitution. And in an instant a bright flash had gone off in the room. I laughed when a security guard escorted out my brother with my mom. I filled in Noah’s spot to finish taking the picture when karma decided to pay me back for laughing at him. And just like that my flash went off and I was taken away. Leaving the building with the biggest grins on our faces because we had gotten the best pictures of Constitution. My family vacation was anything but normal and relaxing but it was the most memorable. It has been about ten years now since my family and I packed up in that little van and made that journey together. The long agonizing week trip will never be forgotten.
