Define Success Essay
The media and today's society have brainwashed the citizens of the world to believe the deceit that in order to be successful you need to have the largest house, newest car, clothes, five star dining, and to travel every other month. This is how success is defined, this is what many aim for. But it is not however how I was raised, my mom taught me that the definition of success, similar to life is in the eye of the beholder, and most importantly success should be a synonym for a person's happiness. You can drive a Bentley and live in a million dollar, but you're not truly successful you love what you do, and love accomplishing your goals more than receiving the award.
Success is not the destination but the road to your destination, like any road being traveled the engine may breakdown, the AC may stop working, and you may get stunned by driving over pothole and dents on the road but you are succeful because your persevere you keep it going and keep it moving. No matter how many dust clouds, thunderstorms, and fatigue, you have to keep it going.
Another way which is define success is also by someone's mindset . For example, a dishwasher in a restaurant although it may not be "the American dream" of success but in the eyes of family he is success because has providing stable income, or could be dishwashing to put himself through school, or simply building his resume before moving up and opening his own business. It's all about the mindset, with success as a mindset, failure is never an option, no matter how long it may take one to achieve their goals.
Success is also defined as the realization. Meaning the point in one's life where one may look back and realize that the sweat, tears, pain, and worry were worth it or better yet they were miniscule compared to how great the reward of accomplishing your goal is. Success is not the high paying job, but the self-fulfillment. Teachers for example get advance and expensive degrees only to work in a job that pays less

While some people equate having wealth and power as being successful, that is often not the case. Although earning and having money is an important aspect of our economy and existence, earning large sums of money is not an accurate way of measuring nor determining if a person is successful or not. Those who find true satisfaction in life, regardless of their wealth or social status, are the ones who have reached true success. As put into words by award-winning author Maya Angelou, "success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." True success is achieved when an individual has reached a point in their life where their goals and achievements are meaningful and…

Most of the time these “famous” people are stressed way beyond what is noticed by the public. The literal definition of “success” is the attainment of love, wealth, position, home ownership, and honor. A person must strive to acquire his or her dreams to say that they were able to acquire success. For instance, in the play Death of a Salesman Willy was implanted on the theory that the basis of consummation in life is to be loved. Although this wasn’t morally correct, it wasn’t realistically incorrect. This philosophy was brought upon by his childhood; the insecurities that were built into him that caused him to lie and deceive himself as well as others; that made him vulnerable as a salesman; and eventually led to him ending everything.…

Or, are they stressed, angry, having second thoughts about their future and unsure of the meaning in their life? In most cases, the second explanation holds true. Society has painted a picture and completely brainwashed our generation of the true meaning of success. People willingly accept false and potentially dangerous definitions of success. Promoters wish for us to believe that things such as being a millionaire, living in a big house, driving nice cars, and wearing the latest clothes is the key to happiness, therefore, success. Being successful means being happy, trustworthy, and appreciated. A truly successful man has integrity, respect, confidence, and never-ending patience. There are many ways that people define success and many people define it differently. There are three aspects of my life in which I would personally define my life as a success. The first aspect is education. If I can get through college and with great grades and the education I need for the job I want, then I will have defined my education as a success. The reason I will define this as a success is because of the fact that not everybody gets a chance at a college education and if I can still get that chance then I can define my life as successful. The second reason I will define this as a success is if the college education I want gets me a job I want then I can live a happy life. The second aspect in which I would define…

While spending time thinking about the goal in my life, the only one answer coming up in my mind is to achieve success. But what exactly the word ‘success’ should be defined? Thinking considerably, there are at least two fundamental achievements in life that inspire people. One is to be rich, while another one is to be famous. Though these two words are somehow closely related if you think about the celebrities who are famous and rich at the same time, there are some others who only have high recognition but not rich, such as Mother Teresa who devoted her whole life doing charity for the poor. Therefore, the topic that I am really interested in is about whether to be rich or to be famous is the key word for success.…
