YOUR GOALS

This lesson allows you to identify Two-Word Adjectives. Stress compound adjectives. Write a descriptive paragraph. You must aim to:
1. identify two-word adjectives called compound adjectives
2. correctly stress compound adjectives
3. keep in mind that the first element in the compound is stressed.
4. develop the topic using coherent and organized sentences

YOUR INITIAL TASK
Task I. Identify Compound Adjectives On a sheet of paper, copy the following sentences and underline the compound adjectives.
1. I’ve seen the 20-storey building you were talking about.
2. The fun-filled activity in the classroom makes us enjoy our lesson.
3. The air-borne freight finally arrived.
4. Her record-breaking album is out in the market.
5. The three-eyed monster in the story turned out to be the hero.

Compound Adjectives

Compound adjectives are adjectives formed from two-words. Most compound adjectives are hyphenated, but there are also compound adjectives which are made up of two words joined together (close) or two separate words (open).

Examples: Hyphenated: Fun-filled (filled with fun) Palm-fringed (full of palms) Well-known (popular) Separate (Open): Crystal clear (as clear as crystal) Bright red (the color is bright red, not pale or dull) Joined (Close): Overnight (the whole night long) Homesick (lonely) Homeward (towards home) Examples:

    The most abundant resources in the world is water because 97% in the world is water or not drinkable but the 3% of water are drinkable. People live in this world mostly are wasting water doesn’t know how to conserve water. Water is very important to us because if the person can’t live without water. To avoid this, I usually manage my water in terms of sustainability for generating a fresh water to be useful and can be reducible. I have some tips or ways to prevent conserving water resources. And I believe there are a number of ways to save water, and they all start with you. When I washing dishes by hand, I don't let the water run while rinsing. I fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water, there are some refrigerators, air conditioners and ice-makers are cooled with wasted flows of water. Consider upgrading with air-cooled appliances for significant water savings, when I wash the fruits and vegetables in a pan of water instead of running water from the tap, I collect the water use for rinsing fruits and vegetables, then I reuse it to water houseplants, and the last I shorten my shower by a minute or two and you'll save up to 150 gallons per month, and I collect water from our roof to water in my garden. That’s my strategies to manage my water for conserving. I hope some people realize that water is very important to us and avoid to waste. In relating to peace education if you have a discipline in yourself you should be more manageable to fight and to sustain the water conservation.…
