The Idea of e-Commerce e-Commerce is the idea of buying and selling items which are advertised and bought electronically. For instance, the Internet is the most known way of advertising goods and services, but isn’t necessarily the only way.
The impact that e-Commerce has had on society as a whole is revolutionary compared to what society would be without it. However, at the same time, it has also been detrimental to society. There are so many reasons as to why e-Commerce has revolutionised society. One of those reasons is that it has given individuals the ability to purchase products or services that wouldn’t be available to them in their current area. Another reason would be that customers can have items delivered right to their doorstep.
An example of an organisation that implements e-Commerce is Amazon. Amazon have been an Internet-based company since 1994 where they started out selling books online through the Internet. They would be delivered to the customer’s address and would make their money solely online. Amazon then diversified, selling CDs and DVDs and grew even more by selling retail products.
One advantage that Amazon have is that their hugely known, admired and trusted by the public. Nonetheless, they aren’t able to make much profit because they only take a small percentage (from commission) of all the products sold through their website, and it isn’t enough to turn a profit. Another advantage of Amazon is that it gives customers as well as retailers and organisations the ability to sell their products.
The impact of introducing e-Commerce to the Kings Gallery can propose both hindrances and benefits to the organisation. For instance, the e-Commerce for the business can take off and will provide a flow of financial backing which would also start to improve the art market as customers may find the need to physically see the art in person without

Throughout the last decade, Amazon has become one of the most sustainable companies within its industry. One of the major reasons that Amazon has been able to achieve a long term competitive advantage is by offering superior pricing power, capitalizing on a large market share and creating a well-known brand name. Through these achievements Amazon has been able to produce long term advantages that have made it difficult for other companies to duplicate. Amazon has an elite status within itself, throughout out the past decade it has both surpassed bench marks and created new ones. Amazon has set the bar so high that it would be extremely difficult for a company to reproduce their success. Amazon was first developed when e-commerce was in an infancy stage. I believe e-commerce is radical as it is the only alternative to physical shopping. E-commerce allows people to buy even a small toothpaste from the comfort of their own homes. It is also very beneficial to disable people who before e-commerce, found it difficult to go physical shopping. Also, e-commerce changed the way we shop, by providing us options to choose, compare prices and become smart shoppers.…
