My mom tells me to do my best
She wants me to learn from her mistakes. she works hard for me to have the best and
I awarded her with my education. She tells me “honey don’t give up do your best because when you work hard life becomes easy and i wish to learn that earlier”. She loves me a lot and cares that I succeed to see me become somebody that she is pleased with and proud to say thats my son.

Courage By:Anne Sexton

I go through life looking back in the past memories when I was a kid or baby not worrying about anything. Now being a teen going to high school wondering what college I am going to or my grades have to be good then my future comes when I am twenty working and experience new things with the people around me. Then I start to get older now seeing back at the things I did or accomplish. To tell my kids how life is and watch them grow. Where i just watch the sky till its time to go.

“Slaveship,” by Lucille Clifton, is a free verse poem from the perspective of slaves that the white men capture and trade in the slave trade, forcing them to travel on the Middle Passage. Ironically, the ships bear the names of religious symbols and figures such as Jesus, Angel of God, and Grace of God (lines 14-15) even though the act of slavery is one of the most sinful systems in the eyes of these slaves and in the eyes of all decent human beings.…

Most fourteen year olds have no idea what they want to be when they grow up. I guess you could say I fell into this same category. That is, until my Careers teacher gave me a life changing assignment. For this assignment, I had to pick a career and job shadow a person in that profession. I had no idea what direction to turn. Then, one day while sitting in the dental chair waiting for my dentist, I began mulling over different career possibilities. When my dentist came in to finish my exam, it suddenly crossed my mind that maybe dentistry was a possibility. I started paying attention to what he was doing and soon realized that this was something I wanted to learn more about. I remember how excited I was when I told my mom I had found the perfect person for my assignment.…
