In York, there are many historic attractions that one can visit; such as the York Minister. It is the largest Medieval Gothic cathedral north of the Alps and it is a treasure house of 800 years of stained glass. There are many museums that hold vast amount of historic value like the Yorkshire, Railway, and the Castle Museums. All of these museums have a wide range from parlors to prisons and marriages to mill houses.
The remains of the Viking-Age City, Jorvik, were found by a group of .archaeologists. When one goes to Jorvik, there are live demonstrations of the skills and artistry of the Vikings that lived one thousand years ago in the 11th century. Following into the 13th century was the Clifford’s Tower that was originally built by William the Conqueror. This proud tower played a key role in the control of Northern England. It has fascinating views that surround the countryside.
Dating from 2000 years ago was a dungeon that has a gruesome history. It holds beneath its dark chapters bloody, and dreary remembrance. This York Dungeon has all the dreadful details when one visits. While seeing the dungeon, remember, everything one experience truly has happened.
Not only does York have historic facts that can not be found anywhere else in the world, but of the fascinating structures of the building.
