Thomas Harriotwas an early leader to the colonies. He was a scientist and an adventurer and went with the first group of discoverers to the New World as a cartographer. He wanted to stay and cultivate the land and take advantage of what he saw as making money in the cultivation. He believes that there are balanced, generous relationships in the New World and has a venire of everyone getting along. When gathering things from the New World back to England he tries to assure the Indians you barely have to work and everything there is wonderful. Part Three The Puritans depended entirely on god for salvation meaning that good works meant nothing in terms of you going to heaven or hell.
