Carte and Fox bring about many issues that come to surface while working with people of all different races and backgrounds. Although teaching you to have good manners is top priority, there are other ways to deal with an increased amount of diversity. They say it is very important to know yourself first hand. You must know yourself, your goals, and accomplishments. You must understand your responsibility in the work place. Next, you can take a look at the people around you. Notice what everybody's job consists of. Think about the pieces of the puzzle and how they fit. Most importantly don't assume that they don't play a part or role because they are of different race or ethnicity. Build a relationship with fellow employees. Building a relationship may overlook how they are so different. Finally, think of the company as a whole. Contemplate on how the company will function if the employees are not cooperating with each other because they are not of the same race or ethnics or because there are too many stereotypes.
