Why I Want To Be a Teacher I want to be an elementary school teacher for many reasons. I would have to say one of the primary reasons would have to be, it is a career I will always love to pursue. I have a great passion for working with young minds. I love seeing a child’s knowledge and abilities develop. I want to be a teacher, so I can help kids develop, learn and grow. Teaching is a great profession for me mainly because I want a career where I can give back and help my community. I want a vital role in the present to prepare the future. There is no better way to prepare for the future than to prepare the minds of the future. I want to get kids interested in learning, school, and cooperating. Cooperation is a huge beneficiary ability for human kind. Cooperation is something you have to adopt early in life to be successful. I believe I can be that teacher that helps kids adopt the ability and more so they can ease their way through school, and ultimately acheive their dreams. I believe I can accomplish this feat year after year, because I am a child at heart and I am flexible. Teaching is an extremely appealing career to me over all. It’s a job that never gets boring. It never gets easy either. I am always up to challenge. I know teaching is challenge because it’s important in society. There is not too many jobs that are more important to society than teaching. I want to be one of several teachers that rise to the occasion of everyday challenges. I accept and look forward to the challenges that the children will present me with. In turn with handling their challenges, I too will challenge my students to succeed. I wish to challenge and guide young minds not only for a career, but for a hobby, a passion and a life.

My main reason for wanting to become a teacher is because I love children and I love working with them. Upon graduation from Boston College, I've had the opportunity of working in New York City public schools as a substitute teacher and at a privately owned nursery school in the Bronx as a part-time instructor. My experiences have been very rewarding thus far and have inspired me to want to continue along this path and seek further knowledge in the field. I can't even begin to describe the joyous feeling of knowing that I've touched the lives of the kids-- it is truly priceless.
