English 6th “Why Do Black Lives Matter”
Analysis Of Quote

Step 1: According to Anthony Bradley,”In the current crisis, we are left to reduce some of our neighbors to depersonalized nouns: “suspect,” “thug,” “criminal,” “felon,” or “cop.” This type of depersonalization is the gateway to dehumanization because it gives us permission to suspend the requirement to treat people with dignity, even if they have broken the law”(1). Step 2: In this quote, what happening is that Anthony believes that we as american define each other as people who are suspect, thugs, and etc. The cause of this is that, we are so focus on ourselves so much that we make people feel least as a human. In effect of this, we are not attaching our personal feelings to people. So we are mistreating people to point where we dehumanize them. We take the dignity way for them, and this shows that we are people that don't care for one another. We don't treat each other as persons Step 3: If we treat each other as if we not persons, then how can we know who we actually are?
We treat each other like we don't matter, but we as a black community, we are yet marching down the streets,”Black lives matter”. If we want people to know that black lives matter, we have to show why black lives matter. If we don't, the world will flourish without the black community. According to Anthony Bradley,”One of the greatest tragedies in American history was the myth that America could flourish without blacks flourishing as persons”(1). Also we have got away from the teaching of Christianity; Christianity showed the teaches of how to treat others. According to Anthony Bradley,” In a depersonalized, individualistic society people could not care less about the flourishing of their neighbors”(1). We have got away from doing the opposite, because we are too interested in ourselves. We should go to Christianity; to show the difference between rights and passion.

Finally, after decades of oppression, the African American community had made real success in achieving their over arching goal of freedom for their people. Better yet, they were able to successfully complete this march on “freedom lane” peacefully, even in the face of violence and brutality from their fellow American people. I have yet to personally experience and/or witness such an event, but I hope I am able to within my lifetime because I believe that there is still much change and justice to be made in the world, and the Martin Luther King Jr.’s march to Montgomery is a clear example that these kinds of changes are…

Based on Brent staples talk, the black lives matter movement is justified. It is justified because black male and female lives are very unfair, there are many differences created between people based on their color of skin. In Brent’s essay he states, “After dark on the warrenlike streets where i live, i often see women who fear the worst for me.” The quote from Brent’s essay is an example is an example of a black male doing nothing wrong, doing the same the same thing as everyone else in the town, he’s just walking around minding his own business and he is getting judged for it. In Ted talk is is stated that the saying “Black lives matter” isn’t saying black lives are the only…

I do not think so. When individuals say "Black Lives Matter", they only want others to know that they are important/ Black individuals do not deserve to be shot when they are getting pulled over for a ticket, selling cd's, eating skittles, or walking home. For example, coming from a shooting of an unarmed black person many supported and put many statements, reports, concerns out to the law enforcement for this issue only being because the police killed someone for their color. In the article,” Black Lives Matter,” it says,” The Justice Department on Wednesday cleared a white former Ferguson police officer in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black 18-year-old, but also issued a report calling for sweeping changes in city law enforcement practices it called discriminatory and unconstitutional.” This demonstrates on how all these problems that will come to the law enforcement will be due to a policeman being racist it came to killing an 18 year old African American. This could come to being even worse if we the people don’t get understood towards what we believe in, obviously we would react in a bad way towards where we live. Additionally, in the article “Black lives matter,” many African Americans feel disrespected and they expect to be understood. It says,” Many African-Americans feel excluded because of their race and experience racial inequality. There has been no real commitment to reparations and to truth and reconciliation for people of African descent.” This shows these African American people should not feel discomfort on where they live. They should be filled with respect as others get. And what they want to be understood on is…

Whether it be the hate crimes for our skin pigmentation or being considered to be a lost cause, we matter. We are not the “super predators,” that Hillary Clinton has dubbed our black men to be, we matter. We have fought alongside our white brothers, while still enduring discrimination, in wars upon wars, and yet we have not been acknowledged until recently, we matter. This fight has been fought since we set foot on this land, now just with a different name. First it was the Nat Turner’s Rebellion slave revolt, then the Civil Rights Movement, and now this. We are tired of having to fight, but we will not stop until America understands and enforces measurements to stop the oppression, the dehumanization, the criminalization, and other injustices, towards the African-Americans, because Black lives matter…

It’s not a secret that there is still injustice and racism amongst the African American community. Too often I hear and read these type of stories about us protecting ourselves or our loved in return going to jail for it. And a lot of time these type of stories always seems to only consist of us. I wish the system wasn’t rigged, but it is. It is like we have a right to be free, but so many of us get lectured, when we exercise our freedom. The stand your ground laws, hardly if ever have been demonstrated to apply to us, just against us. An Aurora woman facing felony firearm charges for firing warning shots at the gunman who killed her fiancé and father of her two children. In the Chicago tribes 26-year-old Ashley Harrison is getting convicted…

If another race were to spend the day with a African American they would see how unfair things are for us. We are constantly judged, and treated differently just because of our skin color. “Black lives matter” is a phrase that we are hearing frequently, but why should we have to remind everyone of that if we’re human too? A few month’s ago a 37 year old black man…
