Boom, thousands of Americans are free of fighting in Japan. After Harry S. Truman confirmed the bombing the war was over. Although it killed thousands of Japanese I believe that it was only for the best. The two bombs fat man and little boy should have been dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. My fist reason is that thousands of American lives were saved. Also it ended the war right then because the Japanese don’t really surrender. They don’t because it’s against the bushido code. First reason why I believe that the bombing was the right choice is because it saved American lives. About 418,500 Americans died in Japan. What would be the total if the bombs weren’t dropped? Japanese were good fighters and were mowing Americans down with fortress guns, infantry guns, grenades & grenade dischargers anti-tank guns, anti-tank weapons and anti-aircraft weapons. They also were only going to surrender if their emperor told them to lay down your weapons. The only way was to bomb Japan till they surrendered.
On the other hand there was other ways to end the war. One was to wait for the red army in the Soviet Union to invade Japan. That was a not good because we already have American troops and a super bomb ready. The red army would also take along time to go over seas with tanks and men. The red army was not a very...
