What really happened to President Kennedy the day he was assassinated? On November 22, 1963, John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated in Dallas, Texas while riding in a motorcade in Dallas' Dealey Plaza. However, there have been many claims as to how he really died. It is believed that Lee Harvey Oswald shot the President. On November 12, John F. Kennedy held the first political planning session for the upcoming election year.
