It was founded by the late E.W. "Billy" Ingram and is currently run by another relative, E.W. Ingram III, who is the president and chief executive officer of White Castle. In the 1930's, a scientific study known as Craveology begins and White Castle hires a renowned food scientist from a Big Ten University to run tests to determine the nutritional value of White Castle Slyders.
