What makes a meaningful life
What Makes a Meaningful Life? It is hard to give a definite answer to the question, “What makes a meaningful life?” This is because everyone has their own ideas of what makes a beautiful life. What may give purpose and meaning to one person, maybe completely be different to what gives purpose and meaning to another. In a general sense, I believe, a meaningful life is a life of happiness and self-accomplishment, a life that is surrounded by loved ones and activities that are enjoyed. If a person is content with what they are doing with their life, then to them their life is meaningful. To have a meaningful life is to wake up every morning with a sense of appreciation for the opportunity to live another day. Everyone is here for a reason. Finding that reason could be difficult, but in order to find it, you have to pursue your passion. Doing everything that it takes to accomplish something that you love makes your life worth living. Whether it be caring for people, excelling in your job, or creating something new, your passion creates a joy inside that compares with nothing else. When you know that you are working every day towards that passion, you feel a sense of purpose. You are driven towards this state of self-accomplishment. And until you are able to accomplish this goal, you are unsatisfied and feel a void in your life.
Reaching self-accomplishment should be an ongoing goal for everyone. The entire process gives your life meaning, but you cannot stop when you think you have reached your goal. You must continue to set your goals higher so that your life always has meaning. Imagine if one had a physical or measurable goal and they were actually able to reach that goal within their lifetime. If they did not find a new goal, then their life that was already so accomplished would become a life without meaning. I think that would be a very lonely and sad way to spend your remaining years.
Instead, when a person reaches a goal, they should take the time to

The meaning of life is not an easy thing to talk about among common people. They do not like to question whether or not their life has a meaning to it, for they have the fear that the answer will be: no. Then again, another problem with that question is that everyone has a different idea about what makes life meaningful. Some people may think that having a high-paying job is meaningful, while another person may think have a family and not worry about money is meaningful. I have learned that their have been many discussions over the subject of life and meaning, but most of the time these discussions take place at one o’clock in the morning at some college bar, which people are not able to remember the conversations the next day, although that may or may not be a good thing. I now realize that the meaning of life is not an appropriate subject for everyday life, but I will continue to discuss it in hushed conversations with friends, during a secrete…

There has been a lot of interesting work and articles on what makes life meaningful one clever piece of work I found I gave an exceptional example was Susan Wolf’s book on "meaning of life". According to Wolf, "meaningful lives our lives of active engagement in projects of worth" (Susan Wolf, "Meaning of Life" PG 205). What I plan to accomplish is to introduce wolves claim and what gives meaning to our lives. Then, potentially give my own objection.…

Graduating college, getting a job, getting married, buying a house and having kids. For most people these are joyous events that are celebrated with family and friends; and come with hard work. Goals that I had set for myself and accomplished were bringing my GPA up and getting inducted into National Honor Society. During my freshman year, my GPA was B+ and so I started motivating myself and I did this by focusing on my grades more often and asking teachers for help, who were very kind. I would like to be able to become stronger both in academics and extra circular activities for me to become stronger and a capable student; it will take hard work and dedication just to push myself. As years passed, by GPA started going up and in my junior year where, some of my friends got inducted into National Honor Society and I had not. Some of the things I think about when I just want to give up is,“You have the patience, the strength and the passion to meet your ambitions your goals and your dreams. The simple answer is simply this: the meaning of life is whatever we choose it to be. One person may choose to provide food and shelter for oneself, for a family or for total strangers. Another person may choose to provide inspiration and guidance to others, or to accumulate wealth, and yet another person may choose, on a moment to moment basis, that which brings peace and happiness to oneself. This decision in what makes your life meaningful is something each one of us makes for ourselves and it is always open to change. It becomes the basis for many other decisions that we make on a day to day basis. If we decide the…

People have different perspectives on how is life worth living. For me, there are many things that make my life worth living. Life offers many challenges but through the love that I receive from my family and friends I become strong enough to face them. Love that I can receive as I live is what makes my life worth living. The opportunity to receive and share it to others really makes my life worth living. Happy moments that I spend with my loved ones also make my life worth living. They help me create good memories as I continuously live. Another one is the chance to improve myself as an individual and to have a purpose on other’s life. As I explore my potentialities, it’s worth living to have an impact on other’s life. It’s like knowing that if I leave this world, I’ll be remember by those people which I have left an impact. And life is worth living because it lets us experience failures and attain success. Failures strengthen us to face the struggles and obstacles that we will encounter while success makes room for more improvement to be an individual worthy to be called as successful.…
