INTRODUCTION
According to Wikipedia facts, the Republic of Indonesia is a nation in Southeast Asia. Comprising 17,508 islands, it is the world's largest archipelagic state. With a population of 222 million people in 2006, it is the world's fourth most populous country and the most populous Muslim-majority nation, although officially it is not an Islamic state. Indonesia is a republic, with an elected parliament and president. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
But have the facts above already described what Indonesia really is? In this essay, our group would like to answer the core question; what is actually Indonesia. Answering that, we want to try to approach the problem as systematically as possible. Here is the order how our essay is arranged; in the very first part of the essay, we deal with Hinduism; its history and value; to answer whether it is true that Hinduism affect Indonesia so much. Next, we discuss Indonesia as a Muslim country; the value and current facts and issues; to analyze how Muslim Indonesia is as categorized as Muslim country. Next, we also include some variables that may affect current Indonesian condition; what factor may affect Indonesia most; in case of two previous arguments (Hindu and Islam) fail to answer the core question.
