Good Evening and welcome to Port Allen High Commencement Ceremony [introduce myself]

Before I get started, I want to take a moment to thank some of the most loving and important people in my life: God - for showing me unconditional love, for putting great people in my life , and for blessing me to be standing before you all this very moment; My Family - for being by my side, loving me tenderly, and for keeping me on track; My Friends- for being there anytime and for reminding me that when life gives you lemons, make lemonade; My Teachers - for the long nights as if I worked a 9 to 5 job whenever you all were just preparing me for this huge place we call the world; My Class for making my years of high school memorable in which I will treasure forever; and lastly to the parents of these phenomenal graduates who have loved with no limits, sacrificed your last, encourage us every step of the way, and for being the real MVP knowing you all deserve more than just a round of applause.

As a class, we have endured changes throughout the years from being split up in the classroom ( Port Allen on one side and Erwinville on the other) as if we were on the bus with Rosa Parks to being untied, from having a teacher and coming back from Christmas break wondering who was going teach us geometry, a change in administration, down to dances from the dougie to “jiggin” and now to dabbin. Through it all I am glad to say we made it; we survived ebola, Oscar Proud, the Predator, Maleficent. Ms. Morgan’s test, Ms. Roger’ solid advice, and the King of Shade worksheets Mr. Seal’s himself. Also for some of you relationship after relationship. All of these good

Throughout this semester many things have been new experiences for the entire class. Some met new interesting people on the other hand some people learned new experiences that will be used throughout the rest of this next semester. Whether it was watching a video on the computer or reading through the Bedford book, many new techniques were learned, as well as new information being learned. Some day’s everything may have not been all together but everything still managed to work out for the entire class, or the one’s that stuck it out through “craziness” of being a new student or having a new teacher. This “craziness was definitely well worth it now that the semester is over and the new semester is approaching.…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…

A bunch of my family members was at my graduation. They were very excited for me and cheering very loud because I was about to get my high school diploma. When I got to the gym, everybody was getting ready to walk to the football field. I was thinking that I had finally succeeded and reached the day I had been waiting on since ninth grade. I was happy that I finally reached my goal to graduate on the night that ended high school life and started my college life. Everyone was always asking me what I wanted to do in college after graduation, but I was not sure because I like to cook different things. It is always fun to try…

I am looking forward to describing my most memorable high school and college experiences. I would really love for my teachers to appreciate me for all the hard work I’ve done. For those people that didn’t know about my ambition and what it really meant to sacrifice, it meant a lot to my family. I’ve gotten involved in school activities, community service, and school events and a lot more. I felt that once I graduated from school I would be able to get involved with continuing education even more.…

Greeting class of 2016; we did it. I would like to congratulate the School of Mayfield Secondary School on graduating. We reached here a short four years, now it’s time to leave. Seems like yesterday we were all shy little 14 year old’s walking into a huge school, trying to figure out where our class was located. It was terrifying walking into a school filled with people so much taller and older than us, and the Grade 12s; I didn’t even want to look at them without thinking we would get bullied. Now we’re those “scary looking Grade 12s” everyone is “afraid” of. We have come so far and are now onto a new journey and are looking at the future ahead of us.…

I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to bid you farewell from your juniors. On behalf of my class, I want to congratulate every one of you on your successes at UCET.It seems like just the other day when we were all talking about our senior'sfarewell as they move on. I remember thinking that it would be hard to say goodbye ... and I was right - it is hard. Yet I consider myself fortunate to have met such a special person ... a person that we care so much about ... that it makes saying goodbye to them hard! As we say goodbye, we remind ourselves that farewells are not forever, nor are they the end. They are simply words to say that we will miss you dearly and that we will remember you fondly.…

You may think graduating is just a part of life, but isn’t it something memorable I can speak of? Well, for me this has been my most proud moment so far. It was the day I finally proved to myself and everyone else that I made it and all on my own. I’ve been serving and helping others for three whole years as the monitor of our class. The day when we graduated, my lovely teacher and dear classmates showed their respect and appreciation to me. Everything just crowded in and images flashed into my mind. To be frank, I had never felt so happy and satisfied before. High school was a huge milestone in my life, and that is also what makes graduation so memorable to me.…

But now we are going into a different phase of life. We are now going our separate ways into life. We each have a different are that we can contribute in. We each have different goals to achieve. We will no longer the same people to be that helping hand or soft shoulder. Therefore we must take with us the knowledge we have learned in the past sixteen years, not just secular knowledge, but the knowledge we have also gained outside the classroom. I truly believed that the experience we have made us that much stronger to overcome the stumbling blocks that will be placed before us on life’s path. We will overcome these stumbling blocks, we will prosper, we will achieve. The class of 2016.…
