The Campus Wedding Case

In order to develop a network diagram for the wedding plans it was compulsory to develop a table with the list of activities and their precedence relationships. After reading and analysing the case, a total number of 20 activities were found, the activities ranged from the church reservation to the actual wedding.
After designating a letter to each activity an immediate precedence was needed for each. The first activity is ‘prepare wedding,’ this is basically a hub for the activities which do not have a direct precedence; this is basically commitment to preparing the wedding. Items such as the church reservation, the maid of honour, cake and table decorations, the pattern of the dress, the style of the invitations, the guest list and the gifts for the bridesmaids would all have ‘A’ as a precedence. The pattern for the dress would need to be chosen first and then the material. After this it needs to be sewed for the final fitting and taken to be pressed and cleaned before the wedding date. With regards to the invitations, before they need to be printed, the style of the invitations needs to be picked and then the guest list would need to be created in order to find out how many individuals are coming; therefore how many invitations would need to be printed. Finally, they would need to addressed, taken to the post office and then sent from there.
Mary states in the case that the gifts for the bridesmaids need to be ready for the rehearsal night and the maid of honour needs to be present by then. Finally the wedding would not be able to commence without activities D,G,L,R,T. These activities include the decoration, catering, the final cleaning of the dress, the distribution of invitations and wedding rehearsal.
