2. EXAM
The objective of this assignment is to provide students with an incentive to study the course concepts with discipline and with an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge of the course tools and frameworks. The exam for Q2 will take place during exam week, and is tentatively scheduled for December 9, 2008, from 10am-1pm. The exam will be a closed-book format and will include true-false, multiple-choice and short-essay questions. On November 20th, a quiz will be available so that you can practice answering these styles of questions for MG 1301. A grading key will be available but your performance will not be a component of your grade for the course. More details will follow.
3. CASE COMPETITION
The case competition is designed to allow students to practice applying managerial tools to a comprehensive case problem and orally presenting their reports to a “Board of Directors.” Teams of 5-6 students (teams are created by the MBA program office) will analyze a case and present their analyses to judges, who will evaluate each team on the quality of its analysis, recommendations and presentation. Each presentation will have a maximum time limit of 15 minutes, which will be followed by 10 minutes for questions. This event will take place on December 15-16, 2008.
Missed Assignments/Examinations
Students may miss an assignment or exam due to illness, domestic affliction, or in the case of part time students, work commitments, without academic penalty providing the appropriate documentation is received and approved in a timely manner. In such cases students must notify the MBA Program Services Office on or before the date of the missed assignment or examination. A medical certificate, employer’s letter or other supporting evidence must be submitted to the Director, MBA Program Services within 48 hours of the due date of the assignment or the exam date.
