Vacation
I am going to Rapid City, South Dakota for my vacation. I chose to go here because it is the first family vacation spot I can remember going to as a child with my parents.
South Dakota is located in the central part of the United States. Rapid City is located in western South Dakota. The weather here changes with the seasons – cold, snowy winters and hot summers.
Hotel I am staying at is the Fairfield inn and suites. We will be staying in the Wa Tiki luxury suite. The room has 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen area, and 2.5 bathrooms. It also has a balcony that overlooks the water park. The Wa Tiki water park is the largest indoor water park in the Dakotas. It has 30,000 square feet of water park and 1,000 feet of slides, lazy river, arcade and concessions.
The first attraction I will go to is the Mount Rushmore National Park. Admission is free, but you do have to pay for parking $11 per car for the day. The faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt are carved on the mountain. There is a walkway of every state’s flag on the way up to the monument. You can walk through the wildlife on trails to get a closer look at the monument; however you do not get to climb on the mountain – that’s illegal. There also is the Lincoln Borglum museum that has a lot of artifacts from the building of the monument to see. There also is a gift shop and several places to get a snack or something to fill your tummy. The movie National Treasure 2 with Nicholas Cage was also filmed here.
The second day my family and I will tour some attractions right in Rapid City. First we will visit Storybook Island. From the fantastic castle at the entrance, to Snow White's house (surrounded by her darling seven dwarfs, the Dalmatians, a train to ride, swings, the Crooked Man's house, a Dragon, a maze, and the 100 Acre Woods we can get lost within a fantastic world of storybook creatures and play sets. Second, we will

When Lincoln was elected into office the country was divided into the North and South. However, the South became even more alienated when Lincoln was elected President because of his opposition to slavery and his pursuance of its abolishment. As a result of his win, several states succeeded from the Union to join forces and create the Confederacy which then only led the hostility to grow even more. The Confederates took the first shot that really began the Civil War with the attack was at Fort Sumter in April of 1861, which led Lincoln to respond with a call to military action - more Southern states succeeded.…

The decorations that encompassed the rooms of the White House were marvelously designed to perfection. We had just enough time to get a good look around before we had to head out the North East gate of the White House. Arlington National Cemetery has always been something I enjoyed visiting during the trips to DC. It is a great place to pay your respects to the ones that fought so greatly to protect the freedom of the American people. The last thing that I have to say is always fun to get to catch up with some friends and in general just having fun is at the mall. The mall has great food and also excellent stores and boutiques to pick up a Christmas gift for a friend of family member if you have the cash to…

Then we saw a movie which showed us the purpose of the building and many of the daily activities. I learned there that there was a grave arranged for George Washington to be buried there but he was buried on Mount Vernon where rightfully should have been. We jumped onto the bus afterwards and arrived at the Air and Space museum to watch a movie and explore the artifacts left there. The fast plane during the Vietnam war that could dodge bullets and radar’s rays would bounce of it. During the movie we learned about space exploration unit that was going to mars and beyond. We left there to go to the FDR memorial walk through. The walkthrough was very inspirational with quotes and many symbols such as missing rocks from the wall indicating Franklin Delenor Roosevelt's life falling apart. After eating our night tours started with Jefferson's memorial. Then we visited the World War II memorial, which was composed of two sides that were labeled pacific and atlantic for the two different sides of…

Long stretch of summer vacation is one of the arguments that some parents and educators are arguing about. They say that the school year should be changed so that there wouldn’t be a 10-week summer break. But for me the school year should not be changed. Students should still have 10-week summer break. Students are just humans they also need to rest and relax even just for 10-week. 10-week summer break is the time for students to enjoy and have a fun time with their family. Summer is for students for them to relax, be productive, and enjoy more quality time with their family.…
