Is a utopian lifestyle possible for future generations? With our technology, medical care, and education growing everyday, I believe that a utopian lifestyle is possible. Advances in all of these areas continue to grow and will eventually lead to the perfect life, the utopia which so many people dream of living in.
Automotive technology has already improved our lives in a tremendous way and can only continue to help us in the future. Today, we not only concern ourselves with making new machines, but also improving existing ones that help save energy. We have cars that can run off of solar power or hydrogen instead of using fossil fuel. Energy efficient cars will also be more economical in the long run and we'll be able to "drive one at one-fifth the cost of a conventional car" (Thomas). Having cars that run on solar power means there is less pollution in the air and we won't waste fuel to drive cars. New technology that saves our resources can also be good for the environment. Solar powered cars will cost much more than current cars but they will save both money and resources in the long run. Overall I think that our technology will continue to improve and help us save our natural resources and conserve energy.
Advances in the medical field could also improve our health and lead us to a utopia. Over the past few years we've been able to make new medications to help fight off many different diseases. New operations and treatments have also been developed and have also helped save many lives: "The speed of medical science, and the enormous benefits it can bring, makes it important for all of us to reflect upon the possibilities ahead" (Perry). We have been advancing in the medical field rapidly and it has helped our society in numerous ways. In the past, there have been some cases of antibiotic-resistance where parasites have become immune to our drugs. Even though we have come across this small problem, I feel that we can work out this dilemma...
