In a competitive world a well calculated next move should be your best move. In the USAuto scenario, ineffective communication prevented the company from making a well organized, thoughtful proposal. While investigating this problem several alternative solutions are presented in order to provide effective communication. In this scenario negotiation tactics was the main tools used to develop these alternatives. USAutos focused on protecting their patent on the hybrid engine and neglected the needs of some of the stakeholders. The failure of putting their selves in the shoes of different stakeholders was the company’s main downfall. USAuto failed to realize that their proposal only benefited their company and didn’t benefit AutoMex. In this scenario it is evident that USAuto missed several opportunities to learn more about AutoMex. With this lack of knowledge the communication between cultures was a barrier. There are several global opportunities that both entities could benefit from working in a collaborative form.
Even though the partnership would have given AutoMex a jumpstart to expanding in the Americas, they were on more sure footing than USAuto. USAuto needed this partnership more than AutoMex to keep itself viable. Besides the possible expansion in the Americas, USAuto did not present any other advantages to partnering with AutoMex. The partnership would have probably benefited both companies to some extent, but AutoMex's hesitancy in accepting the unbalanced financial arrangement is understood. Both entities have Valid concerns that involve several alternatives to negotiating the primary idea of merging both companies in order to get a jump start in expanding into the Americas.
