Unemployment

A job and money controls ones lifestyle and helps people have a normal life as long as they are employed. Unemployment has a proven negative impact on self-esteem and often negatively impacts family and social relationships. There are various reasons why a person would become unemployed. Those who are unemployed can experience financial, emotional, and personal problems in their lives.
The most common causes of unemployment are company layoffs or getting fired for not following company rules and guidelines. Problems within the company itself will also lead to terminations. Smaller companies may have to cut out the entire work force while larger corporations may just cut back on the number of employees in certain fields or areas. Some of these problems cannot be seen in advance, thus leaving countless numbers of people without a job, and more importantly, without a backup plan. A study shows that during January 2003 through December 2005 period, 3.8 million workers were displaced from jobs they had held for at least 3 years. Of those long-tenured workers displaced during the January 2003 through December 2005 period, 49 percent lost or left their jobs due to plant or company closings or moves, 29 percent reported that their position or shift was abolished and 22 percent cited insufficient work as the reason for being displaced (search.ebsohost.com). If a person is fired from a job most of the time it’s very hard to find a job right away especially in the same field. Often times in life we figure out it is not always what you know. Instead, it may be more beneficial in the job search utilizing who you know. Often times people are hired through a grapevine of friends. Once this job is lost, it is much harder to fend for yourself and obtain a job based merely on credentials alone. Aside from that, try finding a job with a recent firing on your resume.
