The trends in popular American culture are what will influence an individual’s life by his or her choices, and attitude. Popular American culture will determine what decisions an individual will make throughout life and what will balance each individual. It seems that society tries to mold each individual, throughout an individual’s life. Many times this can be seen through an individual’s social, personal, political, and religious trends. This paper will consider the social, personal, and political trends in popular American culture.
Social Trends
Over the years with the advancements of technology in America, social trends have also seen much of those advancements as well. In past years individuals would personally interact with others in a more personal setting by meeting face to face or speaking over the telephone. Today with all the advancements in today’s society has experienced many individuals now rely on computers as the main form of communication and keeping in contact with others. Now, unlike in the past individuals are able to use emails and social networks such as facebook or twitter to keep in contact with others, such as family and friends.
Instead of merely using a telephone or meeting for lunch to reach out to family and friends a simple text messaging is sent from a cell phone to update others with information. This makes it simple and quick way to get information out to others as many individuals are on the go everyday. This advancement has become normal to individuals in each society.

Personal and Political Trends
Personal trends have also seen a change over the years. Nursing of a newborn in public was kept private for years. This is something society has changed their attitude towards over the years. Breast feeding in public is known to many as a taboo, and not necessarily breaking the law.
