Introduction
Stepping into the year 2008, most of the things got improve and more advance than ever, from olden days we got horses to rode, but now we have cars, before we wrote letters to keep in contact with each other but now we use e-mail, things have changed, the only thing remain the same is umbrella…Every things around got improved but how come umbrellas got no improvements, probably because people do not put their hearts to innovate it. Umbrella is not the main object that this article is going to talk about but we can use umbrella to explain a little bit about the thing we focus on in this article, which is TQM (Total Quality Management). So what is the umbrella do with TQM? Well, actually nothing to do with it but by using umbrella we could probably understand well about the innovation of TQM from olden days to now. Imagine an umbrella is TQM, so what is the main function of umbrella? Of course when it rains it helps you to avoid getting wet, it does work well when the rain is not heavy, but then when it comes to heavy ones, you probably have about 60% to 70 % of getting your bottom part of your body wet, so from this we could explain that umbrella is not a successful and good quality TQM, because people from olden days till now did not put any hard work to innovate it and just let it be instead. What happen to the transportation system we used to use, like rode a horse before but now we use car and we use e-mail is much more faster than sending letters, if we ride horses in rainy day of course we get wet, but now we use car, we do not get wet anymore and at the same time it has air conditioner, so if we use car as a example of TQM it is a really successful one because we found out a solution of transporting in rainy days without getting wet, this also mean for being so successful it is not done by one person, but it is done by people by working hard into it and to have sustainable improvement, just like TQM today, it is not done by one person but with a...
