In today’s society divorces have become more of a trend. Couples today see marriage as this big fairytale where you end up marrying the one you love, starting a family together and living in the house of your choice. Statistics show that fifty percent of all marriages in America end in a divorce. The lack of communication, alcohol addiction, and even getting married at a young age all deprive couples of having a successful marriage.
The most common cause of divorce is lack of communication. Married couples cannot have an effective relationship if you or your spouse do not discuss your problems or the issues you may be having in your marriage. Lack of communication destroys the marriage and causes trust issues between both spouses. A marriage that consists of either the husband or wife who has an alcohol addiction causes many problems to occur within the marriage. The spouse with the alcohol addiction becomes very controlling and abusive. This causes the other spouse to live in fear and not able to trust the one they love. No one wants to live their life in fear or be with someone they cannot trust. Many married couples believe having children come along with the married life; however, children factor in marital stress and also tribute to lack of communication in a marriage. Married couples often find themselves arguing over the decisions made for their children. For example, one spouse may agree with their daughter going out on a date and the other spouse may think that the date is not a good idea. Eventually, the couple end up arguing about the situation and this causes resent between both of them and jeopardizes their marriage.
Getting married at a young age can also cause a divorce to take place. You either fall out of love with your spouse or you realize that both of you got married for all the wrong reasons.
