The Importance of Recycling
Why should we recycle? What are the benefits of recycling? Can we make a difference to the world? I believe that if we use the 3 r’s (reduce, reuse and recycle) we can make the world a much better place. I have discovered that by recycling I can make a difference in protecting the planet. I will first discuss how just using three words can change the world forever.
Whether you think that recycling effects everyone or not, recycling makes a difference. We can work together to make earth a better place. It’s the right thing to do. Recycling involves processing materials into new products in order to prevent potentially useful materials. This reduces the consumption of fresh raw material, reduce energy usage and water pollution. Recycling is a key component of modern waste management. Recycling is the 3rd word in ‘reduce, reuse and Recycle’, the last word and to get to the last word we have to start with the first two.
Reduce. By reducing the amount of things that we use and eat, we can in a little way, help the environment and the overall health of the world. For example, mobile phones. People started off with just a brick- like device as a phone, but as the generations get older and older, we start to dump our old phones and just buy the new ones. Cell phones and their accessories contain a large number of hazardous substances known as Persistent and Toxic Chemicals. Included in the list are metals like antimony, arsenic, beryllium and more hazardous substances which can remain in the environment for a long time and have negative effects on humans.
Reuse. You can reuse nearly everything! Food, mobiles, old wood, small pots, you name it… it can be reused! Reusing can reduce greenhouse gas that can contribute to global climate change. It can also help sustain the environment for future generations to come and so we can give the next generation a healthier world to live in. If we keep on reusing household items, we are already reducing what we use and we don’t even

Recycling has been a well known idea for so many years, but now we need it more than ever. Now in the world there are so many problems with the environment like Global Warming, toxic waste, and not to mention not recycling is very costly but recycling reduces the landfill space, helps conserves natural resources, and reduces the production of greenhouse gases . When you recycle you also help save animals so the rims of a six pack of soda doesn’t end up blocking a fish's gills or a plastic bag getting eaten by a turtle and having it choke on the bag. Recycling can also be a group effort where you get a group of people from your community, school, church, job, or just you and your friends so not only your saving the environment but your having fun with people you know while doing it.…

These lands fills have huge impacts on the environment; they cause pollution to the local environment by contaminating the groundwater and aquifers, contaminating the soil, and producing methane. One of the ways to help reduce this problem is by recycling.…

Recycling is a major part of our society. It is something that we as American citizens do daily without thinking twice about it. That is one of the main reasons I chose to write this paper on Recycling sustainability. The role of recycling to preserving our environment and to live in a sustainable way is a lot more important than many people think it is. One of the main reasons I chose to write this paper on recycling is because it is a major part of our everyday lives and it is something that most people and businesses do. One major benefit of recycling is that well-run recycling programs cost less to operate than waste collection, land filling, and incineration. The more that people recycle, the cheaper it is to run these programs. Often, communities can get reimbursement for the items that they recycle. Recycling also produces 1.1 million jobs in the U.S. alone. The more jobs that we have available to offer people, the better off our economy will be as a whole. In the end, recycling is a good money-saving device and…

Additionally, another reason why we should recycle is it lessens deforestation. Deforestation is a big problem. It’s the destruction of forests, while in the process of making it into another space for something else. While continuing to make products from wood. This kind of deed leaves our animals and planet in danger. Deforestation not only destroys the habitats of our animals, but it also pollutes out atmosphere. With recycling, we fix this problem by reusing products and waste to make new items. Leaving the forests out of the process.…
