Management Information System:
Information is the Backbone of any organization. Organization as a whole executor on the basis of information. Information is the key factor for any process of the organization. Information should be collected, stored and used in a systematic way.
Management of information thus comes into picture:

• Storage of information
• Updation (adding deleting the information) is very crucial for any organization
Management is previous Generations:
During last decade’s organization was very paper oriented. Every kind of information was stored in a paper format. Information like various kinds of letter, register etc.

Kelly defines management information system as a combination of human and computer based resources that result into collection,storage,retrieval,communication and use of data for the purpose of efficient management of operations and for business planning
Barry says that MIS is a set of human and capital resources within an organization which is responsible the collection and processing of data to produce information which is useful to all levels of management is planning and controlling the activities of the organization.
