Abstract
Communication is the process of exchanging information through a common system of symbols, actions, or sounds. In a team environment, established to accomplish a task or group of tasks, the key to successful completion of the task is effective communication between team members and the audience they will address. This paper examines the tools by which teams communicate with each other and their intended audience, how the team can communicate effectively, and the many ways that communication can break down. The internet is available to most people and provides an interesting insight in to the many aspects of communication in a team environment. The importance of team communication is becoming evident as the demand for solutions to new and existing problems increase daily.

Thesis
Whether at work, in a classroom, participating in a sporting event, or planning a family vacation, teamwork is an integral part of daily life. One of the most important factors in determining the success of a team is the way that the members communicate both with each other and the people outside the team. The effectiveness with which a team communicates is important because the team must be able to define and assign tasks amongst each other in order to meet deadlines, encourage creative thought within the group, and inform those outside of the group of the teams’ findings. A team must communicate with each other in order to know their assigned role and the task that has to be accomplished by each individual in order to make the project come together as a whole.
