Team dynamics is the force behind any project where a team is needed or required. The dynamics involve a mix of different personalities, goals, work ethics and speed. The team will only complete the project if they communicate and work effectively together as a whole and not as each individual piece. Team collaboration allows for a more productive and successful project which will elevate grades if the team is academic or elevate an organization or business to the next level. We will discuss what makes a great team, how to be an effective member of a team, whether team members should be cross-functional and virtual teams versus face-to-face.

Today, academic teams are also dealing with global competitiveness and are employing the use of face-to-face and virtual teams. Whether a business or academic team each organization must make teams work for their projects through the different time zones, countries, and cultures. The different personalities within a team will bring new ideas or upgrades to current ideas to the forefront by interacting with one another separately and as a whole. Each person working on the team participates and acknowledges an understanding of what the team is accomplishing, how it will be accomplished and the deadline for completion.
