Teachers Right's

Teachers have a responsibility to protect students and conduct order. If a teacher has reasonable suspicion that a student may have items in his or her locker that are against the law, or against a valid school rule, the teachers have a right to perform a search and seizer without a warrant
Students have their constitutional rights. They also have the right to sue school board employees who are guilty of intentionally depriving students of their individual constitutional rights. All students including students with disabilities have a right to a public education. Students also have the right to due process, if they feel as though they have been deprived of basic substantive constitutional rights such as personal liberty, property, or privacy. Students have the right to freedom of speech at school unless that speech causes disruptions. Students age 18 or older have the right to examine his or her records, parents of students under the age of 18 have the right to examine school records.
A teacher has a responsibility to limit the rights of a student if it is a case that could bring harm or disorder to anyone in the school. Teachers have the responsibility to maintain discipline and a sound educational environment that promotes learning to all learning styles, and that responsibility gives them the right to conduct searches for and to seize contraband on reasonable suspicion without a warrant. The responsibility a teacher has to conduct such a search would seem as though a teacher were infringing on a students right, however, if a student brings something to school that he or she knows is illegal and against school rules, then the student is giving up his or her rights, with or without consent and that is fair. The rights of the other hundreds of students in the building are at risk when another student breaks the rules and brings guns, drugs or any other item that is clearly against school policies.
