      Tattoos come in all different shapes and sizes, and a lot of different people get tattoos. There are so many different kinds of tattoos out there to get; some people do not know where to start when getting one. While when getting a tattoo there are some health risks that are not preventable, tattoos are safe and fun to get as long as you know the risks involved.

      Taking good care of your tattoo avoids infection.   To avoid infections, stay away from the pool and just hang inside for awhile. Soaking in the tub for the first two weeks will help keep the infection less likely to happen. Do not remove the scab that grows over the tattoo, it is there to prevent infection from leaking into the wound that is there right after you get the tattoo put on and avoid exposure from the sun, that will help keep it from fading. Wear a long sleeve shirt or jeans to keep it covered up so the sun does not get to it. People who have sensitive skin should avoid getting them. If you are allergic or sensitive to certain metals, you should avoid having them. Being allergic or sensitive to certain metals can make you break out from the dye that they use when putting the tattoo on your body. You can have a test patch done before you get one. If you break out from the test then you know not to have one put on because you are either allergic or sensitive to some metals.

      Tattoos are fun and have artistic value when you get them. A lot of people get different tattoos with different meanings on them.   Some people get tattoos of names to represent different people in their lives. They could have been someone who died, like a grandmother or grandfather, or the names of your children or even your spouse.   It could be the name of a group, in a band or a religion group.
