Superfund
Superfund site is an area that people decides to throw their waste objects away.
It has become a dumping area where people don’t know what to do with chemical
and poisonous waste items. It can be a place of an old factory and landfills. This area
is where the (CERCLA) Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and
Liability Act of 1980 provides control for cleaning up hazardous waste site and other
emergency pollutants and contaminants into the environment,
The Superfund program is a program that help cleans up the environment,
this comes from area that is contaminated with hazardous waste. Many years ago,
people were unaware that throwing hazardous waste on the grounds could one
day cause harm to humans, animals and the environment. The waste was polluting
the environment and causing a problem. In 1980 the Superfund started the EPA
(Environment Protection Agency) to help clean up the problem that was store on the
site. There are 1,300 Superfund site across the country.

The King of Prussia 10-acre site was purchase by King of Prussia Technical
Co from Winslow Township in 1970. In 1973, the operation was stopped after King
Of Prussia treated industrial waste and disposal hazardous liquids. The site was purchase
by Evor Phillips Inc until 1973 to 1975. The site was abandoned by 1975, but by 1976
the Winslow Township regained ownership because of the lack of unpaid property taxes.
This site contain six lagoons, drum, plastic containers buried and two rusting and torn
tankers. There was approximately 15 million gallons of wastewater containing toxic
chemical delivered on that site. The EPA confirmed that four remain with odor out of
six lagoons...
