Success in my eyes
Success is not something you can see or point to therefore everyone has a different concept to what success means. Upon being asked, "What is success?" I automatically thought that was a no brainier. Until I attempted to write my paper. I was at a loss for the correct approach to my answer. According to Ralph Waldo Emerson, the answer to that question has many different answers and there is not one right answer. However, I belief in order to have success you must have God in your life because success is definitely "a result or an outcome" or "an event that accomplishes its intended purpose" as stated on dictionary.com. Having a successful life is not having everything you need and want.
Sadly, because I think in pictures, when I first thought of success I pictured having a big house, a fancy car, and expensive clothes. Socially that is due to the media and the changes society has taken, stamping the incorrect value on life. It is as if materialistic things are more important and valuable than anything else. For that reason, it is hard for me to believe that "he who dies with the most toys wins." Success is not measured by the materials one obtains but rather by how you achieve something and, after you are finished you may obtain certain benefits and rewards from your success. Therefore, the quote is misleading because the person that wins when they die is the one who lives right by God.
A successful life is one that lives right by God. Someone who lives their life without God dies with nothing and becomes nothing. Those who live right by God are filled with hope, faith and love. As a reward for living a successful life you encounter love and you live with hope. People who have loved in their life have accomplished something major in their life. Those who live their life with hope have learned to be true and calm when dealing with life's events. Hence, this is the reason why the person with a good hand may play horribly while...
