Electricity is one of the most important factors in life today, without electricity we wouldn’t have the stuff we have to do. This world would be a totally different place. Electricity to me is so important I wouldn’t be able to straighten my hair or blow dry it. I wouldn’t be able to see anything we would have to use lanterns, torches, like they used to. I’ve adapted to this lifestyle I can’t imagine what life used to be like without stoves or anything else. Southwest Rural Electric Cooperatives is served by the people. It helps are community by providing us with electricity that doesn’t cost very much. It helps the farmers and ranchers as well as all the other people. Without electricity life would be hectic. It helps by providing us with heat to warm are houses and without heat we would get really cold. We wouldn’t have television and most people are addicted to it. We wouldn’t have computers; we couldn’t check are emails or look up stuff on the internet. The kids would go crazy. Back in the old days I don’t know how they survived by living off the land. It would be very interesting to go back in time and live like them for a day. Southwest Rural Electric Cooperatives helps the teens by giving them chances for scholarships and help them learn how electricity was formed in their county. Succeeding years have seen the building of more electric power lines. Electrical appliances have changed home life from drudgery to convenience. Drop cord lights were wired first, followed by electric irons, radios, stoves, refrigerators, and eventually, televisions. Electric Cooperatives have a board of trustees and are member of the rural community such as farmers and ranchers. They are very helpful when you call they are very friendly and tell you all about the electricity and all your questions are answered.
