1. What are watersheds?
An area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas.
2. What does a watershed consist of?
Watershed consists of the few underground springs and precipitation runoff from the land.
3. Why are watersheds important?
We can get some of our water from them.
They separate our water and keep it sanitary. We get to reuse the water from run off.

4. What is a tributary? a river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake
5. What is a river? a large natural stream of water flowing in a channel to the sea, a lake, or another such stream
6. Identify 5 uses of rivers
Drinking water, Hygiene, Run off, Playing in, Transportation

7. What is Stream Load ?
Stream load is a geologic term referring to the solid matter carried by a stream
8. What is discharge? allow (a liquid, gas, or other substance) to flow out from where it has been confined.
9. Explain how the speed of a stream is related to its discharge, load, and erosive power.
The speed determines the amount of discharge, load and power it is giving.
10. What is a gradient? an increase or decrease in the magnitude of a property (e.g., temperature, pressure, or concentration) observed in passing from one point or moment to another.
11. Give an example of a stream’s speed of flow as it relates to its gradient and power of erosion.
North America can be divided into several basins west. These ions are eventually carried to the oceans and give the oceans their salty character. ... When flow velocity decreases the competence is reduced and speed decreases.
12. What are tributaries? a river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake
13. What is stream discharge?
The volume of
