Using Axia’s Educational Resources

            Now that I know that I can download materials from Axia’s website to use on my portable devices, I plan to download all that I can and listen to it while I am doing housework during the day or even in the car. This will help make my study time more efficient. I will not have to sit at the computer for long periods of time reading the assigned homework. I can now take it on the go.

            Navigating the University Library is easy for me now. I now know how to log on and look for the APA tutorial guide for any questions I have on how to compose a paper. I can also use the library for research, using the three databases available. I can even use the Plagiarism Checker and the WritePoint services. All of these services will help me in my future work in the up-coming college courses that I am taking.

            When using the databases provided, and using the tools learned in Gen 105, I now have a better understanding of how to locate an article and use the information it contains.  I need to use as many keywords as possible to narrow down my search and make it easier to locate information. This will help “weed out” any unwanted articles that I do not need.

Upholding Academic Honesty

            Axia College’s academic honesty policy is strictly enforced. There is a strict “no tolerance” policy to plagiarism. There are many consequences to plagiarism and many ways to make sure that you do not plagiarize. I must always remember to submit my work to the Plagiarism Checker and the Writepoint service to be sure that I am not plagiarizing.

If I do plagiarize, the consequences that may come from it are: a failing grade, failure of the class, or dismissal from the University. These are serious offences to a serious crime. Plagiarism is considered stealing and will not be accepted.
