1. Introduction and Motivation:-

"STRATEGY is the direction and scope of an organisation over the long-term which achieves advantage for the organisation through its configuration of resources within a challenging environment, to meet the needs of markets and to fulfil stakeholder expectations". As per the recent article posted by Mr. Pareekh Jain on 22nd August, 2009 in Business Week, where the definition for Strategy given by an IIM Professor “Strategy is a way of Life” has made very clear of what Strategy actually means. Generally people feel that Strategy is about making choices among the available alternatives but by seeing the examples of the choices taken by the CEO of a firm in that article to face the recession and the strategies taken by the Ruling Government of India’s Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, where she was having a choice of becoming the Prime Minister of India but she did not opt it because she was having a different strategy behind her move. As seen from the above that the view of strategy is differing for every individuals, one thing is clear that when observed carefully we can know that every strategy falls under one of the category of the following four Strategic Theories :
(a) Classical Approach Strategic Theory.
(b) Evolutionary Approach Strategic Theory.
(c) Processualistic Approach Strategic Theory.
(d) Systemic Approach Strategic Theory.
