The virtual organization that Team C has selected is Riordan Manufacturing. Team C will identify and analyze Riordan Manufacturing’s strategic plan and how TQM is implemented into that plan. By addressing the four components below, Team C will describe how Riordan Manufacturing’s strategic plan and TQM provides its clients with database solutions and network applications in an ever-changing technological world; that must also contend with competition due from technology and globalization:
• State the organization's mission and vision, and identify the organization's strategic objectives.
• Discuss if Total Quality Management is a strategic level objective for this organization.
• Identify what impact globalization may have on the organization’s total quality management position.
• How does globalization increase the complexity of total quality management for this organization?
The core purpose of a company can be found in the mission statement. Mission statements are crafted to be unchanged and long termed. A Mission statement is something to be accomplished where a vision is in pursuit of that accomplishment and the strategy is adapting practices to changing circumstances to keep the vision in focus (Business Dictionary, 2008).
The mission for Riordan has four core values; our focus, employees, customer relations, and future. For Riordan the Mission focus is to make good use of Six Sigma in the business, to exceed the ISO 9000 standards while leading the industry trends with the R and D department. The focus of customer relations is to provide solutions to customer’s problems, develop and maintain long-term relationships while delivering reasonable pricing and innovative solutions. The focus toward employees is to harbor and develop an innovative team orientated company by keeping them well informed and focus o the mission with good consistent communication.
