Throughout history, numerous people have tried to change the way others look at things. The ‘it' in "It stars with one" stands for a universe at peace, a world free of war and full of citizens who care for each other. Just being a caring person who helps others in itself can be a start to rising above all of the hate in this world and beginning a new era in which people care for each other. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks are great examples of people who have tried to change the outlooks of people on different cultures.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a man who put his all into changing the world. With his words of wisdom, he altered the views of many people on blacks. With his "I have a dream" speech he practically began the Civil Rights Movement. Not only was he a major leader of the Civil Rights Movement, but he also aimed people in the direction of peace, and made it aware that there was a way to solve problems without harming anyone. In 1964 he was awarded the Noble Peace Prize for his work as a peacemaker and also for his promoting of non-violence. Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested in 1963 for his famous "Letter From Birmingham City Jail". This was protesting the way that the African Americans were being treated in Alabama and supporting civil disobedience against unjust laws. This is where it starts with one comes into play. Martin Luther King Jr. did not have to stand up for these African Americans who were being treated unfairly in the South. He could have just ignored it, but he did not. He stood up for what he thought was right, and it turns out that many people agreed with him. He put his own life at stake, in hopes that the future would convey equality for all African American people. The March on Washington was where Martin Luther delivered his "I have a dream" speech. The "I have a dream" speech developed a desire for peace and freedom in the lives of many blacks. Martin Luther helped start this idea and gave people hope that in the...
