Motivation of Insurance Staff
A scholar once said……it is not the level of power that brings success but the “Power of the mind” that helps an individual achieve success. The author contemplates the drive to achieving success or targeted business levels realizing the presence of this drive being more in some than other individuals. “The psychological feature that arouses an individual to take action towards a desired goal”, is known as motivation, “the reason for action.” This study is directed to the same reason and purpose on how and why and what are the available methods to raise motivation levels amongst the employees working in insurance companies.
The study concentrates particularly on insurance company staff, as they are entrepreneurs who work in the company but set-up their own businesses with set target levels. These employees, being sales marketers also face high rejection levels like most direct marketing individuals. Usually when an organization maintains high employee moral they tend to save money as employees work effectively for the profits of the company, and the insurance staff is no different to this. (Caballero,1988)
This study is directed at the strategic issues of employee motivation, the need to motivate, the methods on how to motivate leading to the various theories suggested by diverse authors and the effect of the same before and after the training and incentives provided on the nature of the level of performance to achieve profits. This shall help provide vital information on employee benefit systems starting from general organizations then further laying focus on the insurance sector. The example of Nexus Insurance brokers shall be studied for a deeper and realistic understanding of the same. These employee benefits have become a major instrument in moulding policies in companies opening new opportunities in the human resources.
