1.0 Background Summary____________________________________________________
Huffman Trucking has always been a leader in the industry, and at the forefront of innovative ways to meet their clients’ needs. With locations in Los Angles, St. Louis, Cleveland and New Jersey, Huffman strives to stay on top of its game. In order to do this they must continue to improve communications both internally and externally with their workforce and clients.
Team C has been tasked to evaluate the current Huffman trucking telephone and data network systems that are in place, and provide recommendations for improvements. This analysis will be based on the criteria outlined in service request SR-ht-010, which identifies the need for increased efficiencies, capabilities, and recommendations for additional costs on the project. The proposed modifications and improvements to their network systems should allow Huffman Trucking to stay competitive, as well as allow their operations to continue to grow.

2.0 System Overview _______________________________________________________
The California office has a PBX Telephone system with an intercom (POTS). The system does not have Voice Mail nor does it have caller ID. All of the phones in California’s office and also the one fax machine that California has in the office are connected to the PBX Telephone system. The connections are made with Cat 3 wiring.
