Casting Crowns is a Christian band that has a soft rock music style. Their songs central on Christianity and religion. Most of their music involves worship songs that praise God. The group was founded by youth pastor Mark Hall. Hall is also the lead singer of the band. The band Casting Crowns has seven members(). All of which are active Christians. They live Christian lifestyles and participate in their church. Casting Crowns reason for writing Christian music because they believe that music influences the daily actions of a person. Casting Crowns “Praise you in the storm” comes from their album Lifesong. Lifesong was the second full- length album that Casting Crowns produced(). In 2007, “Praise you in the storm” won the ASCAP song of the year award(). Also in 2007, the band itself won “Favorite Artist”, an American Music Award, in the category of Contemporary Inspirational music(). I chose the song “Praise you in the storm” because I believe that it portrays some of my very important values and beliefs.
