Socialization Essay
My family has played a big role in my life and will continue too tell the day I die.
The person who has influence me the most is my mom. She has always been there to guide me and she is a very determined person that will do what it takes to get what ever it is done. When I was eleven my father came out of the closet and broke up the family he started because he was gay. My mom heart broken still fought on and raised me and my five brothers. My work ethics developed by watching her and the way she raised me. My mother always put a roof over my head, food in my belly and clothes on my back with out the help of my father. She taught me to work hard to get what I wanted and that wasn't because she didn't want to give it to me. It was because she couldn't afford to give it to me, so I started work at the age of nine as a ranch hand to save and by a dirt bike. By making me work for the extra's I gained a good work ethic and worked my way into a great job and opportunity to go to college and become a service technician for the Caterpillar Cooperation.
My grandfather is the reason why I'm at school working to get my degree in diesel science. He was a train technician and worked on the Detroit engine that ran the electric motors on trains for 35 years. When I was growing up him and my grandma lived next store. He taught me to work the fields and my families land with the tractors and assist him in making repairs on his farm equipment. Whether it was changing a tire or rebuilding an engine he would take the time to teach me. By my grandfather taking the time to teach me to fix equipment sparked an interest that I'm now pursuing as a career. He was the father figure I needed when I was a child and like my mother taught me to work hard and be grateful for what I have and to take pride in everything I accomplished.
I have not been married or cohabiting.
I have not yet been a parent.
