So Mote It Be Meaning
My initial answer to the the definition of So Mote it be was said at the end of a spell/ritual to release energy. I suppose I have not actually tried to find out what the phrase actually means and went strictly on how we always say So Mote it Be at the Prayer and Energy Requests in our school rituals. Now that we have that out of the way, why don't I actually go find out what it means without an assumption!

The basic definition of So Mote It Be is, So Must It Be, And So It Shall Be, Amen, to be allowed, As I will it, so it shall be, so be it, so may it be or even by the will of god, may it be done. At the same time it shows closure to a ritual spell or asking the deities if they could will it or even believe it to happen, so shall it be.
Looking into where the phrase may have come from, there are guesses that the word mote is the word we focus on while attempting to figure out the exact meaning of the phrase. Mote could be Anglo-Saxon, Dutch, Hebrew, Old English or Latin.

It is a blessing, an affirmation, it makes us stand up, tall and strong, and passes our will into weave of energy, making it stronger. It's not to release the energy, it's more personal, it's putting more energy into the workings we are doing. It is a very strong phrase that I wish I would have learned about sooner, instead of overlooking and ignoring it.

The reason I completely missed the mark on So Mote It Be was simply assuming that it was unimportant. I have said and wrote the phrase so many times that it didn't have the energy that it should have and I personally let it fall through the cracks. Until this assignment anyways! The strength and power from this phrase has come to me through the ages and now I have a better understanding of what it means, I am having a hard time justifying the ignorance I had towards it just a few days

Because of this the sobering reality of realizing that one must stay within certain boundaries of reality or get assimilated by society. It’s problematic when one cog in a machine does not function as the rest of them do, so one simply replaces that. It is an allegory for death so that when you die you may not be missed workload wise because someone will be there to take your place, and while seeming cold and mechanical it really stresses the inherent value to live everyday to the fullest. If the eventuality is death and since one does not know if there is anything after that, one should be able to be strange within the confines of social protocol and enjoy their life before it invariably…

This for me is pivotal because there’s a sense in which I am tortured i.e. I see my self as a get on with the job kind of person which betrays a more reflective, creative self. This is the self which finds softness and generosity when I do what I love doing…. Reading, singing or playing music, exploring some new part of the world I live in, particularly a natural setting in God’s creation. This is the self which softens what is often perceived to be hardness in my attitudes to others, loved ones, friends, colleagues, the world in general, that skepticism that so distorts and diverts what are often good actions and…

What these words explain is not something is received with enthusiasm but is often accepted either by force or obligation. The poem’s principal idea is the satisfaction to do your work every day and feel great can be attained by using your skills to serve the functions in life, for it is the opinion of the speaker that an unproductive existence has no strengths or significance because is pointless and insignificant. At the beginning of the poem the speaker exposes how the people he loves the best “The people I love the best jump into work head first without dallying in the shallows and swim off with sure strokes almost out of sight” (1-4). Using these words the speakers’ reveals that he admires the people who don’t be afraid with work and how can they don’t procrastinate their goals and…

Most fear challenges. Whether the person dislikes failure, doesn't believe in himself/herself, or simply because challenges are difficult, that fact is undeniable. However, the poem “To Be Of Use” by Marge Piercy teaches the world that they should not back down when faced with difficult tasks. It teaches that everyone can be admirable by plunging into work and giving it their all. After all, as “To Be Of Use” also teaches, the more work one puts into a project of any kind, the better the project is and the more satisfying it is to see completed. It also teaches that humans feel useless without work, and feeling complete rewards the human soul. “To Be Of Use” by Marge Piercy conveys the theme through metaphors, similes, and imagery.…

Whitman explains that man has to find significance and meaning to the existence of the human race. In his poem "A Noiseless Patient Spider," the spider makes a web and each piece he strings out needs to be connected to a sturdy part. This is a metaphor for a soul, it wants something strong to connect to, to hold on to. Whitman later goes on to talk say; “And you O my soul where you stand, surrounded, detached, in measureless…

We are the causes of our own suffering. I have always believed in this saying. It really embodies the reasons behind why one would be happy or unhappy. Although our moods are swayed by our thoughts, they are also affected by the people around us. This is a feeling that requires a desire for it, or a want to be optimistic. If happiness is achieved, there is not only a positive effect on the human mind, but also on the health of the person. I believe that all moods are contagious. And furthermore, they are contagious through energy- positive or negative.…
