Human Capital is emerging as the most challenging factor that contributes to organizational success. People are the ultimate resources for employers and employers must give the fullest emphasis to the development of the human resources. With this respect, PSMB has come out with the initiatives to help employers to accelerate the development of human resources in their organization and SME Training Fair is one of the initiatives.

The first SME Training Fair was organized by PSMB in 2006 and it has grown into a regional based event. 2 Training Fairs were conducted in 2007 at Penang and Johor Bahru. This year, SME Training Fair continue to serve as a platform for SMEs to identify and source training programmes relevant to their needs.

The first SME Training Fair in 2008 took place at Melaka International Trade Centre, Melaka on 6th March. The event was officiated by Yg. Berbahagia Datuk Thomas George, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources. This one-day event was organized by PSMB in partnership with Jabatan Tenaga Manusia (JTM), Advanced Technology Trainning Center Malacca (ADTEC), Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) Malacca, Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (MCCM) State of Melaka, Small & Medium Industry Development Corporation (SMIDEC), Melaka Industrial Skills Development Centre (MISDC) and Malaysian Textile & Apparel Centre (MTMA).

The fair featured 4 presentation papers. Due to the request from the association, it was the first time that PSMB conduct the concurrent session in Mandarin.
Through the papers presented by the prominent speakers, participants were exposed on the latest human capital development tools and approaches. At the same time, participants also managed to get greater understanding on the current HR issues and challenges related to SME.
