They had a very good system of land development and a hierarchy of family lineage before the Europeans arrived
Africa was relatively uncolonized or harshly defended

The Cape was one of the most oppressive and ruthless slave centers in history
The enlightenment called for an end to slavery
Churches offered support for slavery
Raynal, an authour, composed his views of slavery without ever leaving Europe
His famous work was essentially a composition of other works
He basically said that the discovery of the Indies was a disaster for humanity
Many "physiocrats" supported his book
