Slang In The Twenties

In Regular English:

I took off in my car to pick up my girl. She was wonderful and I think she was hopelessly in love with me. We were going to a night club for some liquor and a little entertainment. As we pulled up to the place we noticed an fancy man trying to pick up girls waiting outside. He looked like he was searching for some sexy girl but since he was quite drunk, we were sure he would only get some stupid girl. Inside we grabbed the last table left. I put on my glasses to see the other people at our table. There was a sexy girl with an attractive boy who were dressed really fashionable. Unfortunately the rest of the crowd included a bunch of dull people. It was at that time we decided to leave.

In Modern Slang:

I took off in my ride to pick up my babe. She was hot and I think she crazy about me. We were going to a beer joint for some booze and a good time. As we pulled up we saw a player waiting outside. He looked like he was searching for some slut, but since he was really smashed, we were sure he would only get some half-witted chick. Inside the place we grabbed the last table left. I put on my rims to see the other people at our table. There was a slinky girl with a stud who were dressed real fine. Unfortunately the rest of the crowd included a bunch of duds. It was at that time we decided to ditch that joint.
