Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing which was made up over thousands of years ago as part of the traditional medicine of China. The practice of acupuncture is thought to have begun with the discovery that the sticking of specific areas on the skin affects certain organs of the body. It has since then changedd into a system of medicine that restores and maintains health. This is done by the insertion of tiny needles into acupuncture points just beneath the body surface. These points are in very specific locations and lie on channels of energy.
Anyone can have acupuncture regardless of age or illness. It can be combined with drug therapy and it can be used to treat short or long lasting disease. As with any therapy, however, the response and success of acupuncture can vary from person to person. Many people may ask how many treatments would I need for this begging to work There is no set number of treatments required. On average treatments will be once a week from any thing between 4 and 10 sessions. Sometimes the effects are dramatic and you may need only one or two treatments, but there is always sometimes that the effects are not as effective and you may need treatment for months. Usually good changes are experienced within a few sessions.
The theory behind acupuncture is pretty simple The earliest recordings of the use of acupuncture go back about 2,000 years. In China it is widely expressed that it has been in use for 4,000 years. The origins go back as early as the Stone Age where abscesses were punctured by sharp stones or bone fragments. When you experience pain it is an instinctive reaction to apply pressure to that location. Such as when you get a toothache. Also the body may experience pain where the infection is not localized.
