Hemoglobin S becomes insoluble whenever hypoxia occurs. As these red blood cells become rigid and elongated, forming a crescent or sickle shape. Sickling can produce cell destruction. These altered cells make more viscous and tend to accumulate in smaller blood vessels. This result in of normal circulation, swelling, tissue refraction, and lots of pain which last up to 10 to 20 days. The blockage causes changes that lead to more sickling and obstruction. RBC carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissue and organs through the body which causes the body to need oxygen.
As a Medical Assistant if I were to work in a hospital I would be able to provide oxygen, draw blood making sure the patient is receiving pain medication encourage to drinking extra fluids, and keeping comfortable.

Congenital heart disease affects various heart structures. It does extensive damage to cardiac muscle fibers and reduces in the left ventricle. The left ventricle and interventricle obstruct left ventricular outflow. The heart compensates for the decreased cardiac output by increasing the rate and force of contractions. The ventricle becomes stiff and unable to relax and fill during diastole. As the left ventricle volume diminishes and filling pressure rises, pulmonary venous pressure also rises, leading to congestion.
As a Medical Assistant I would set up this appointment to see the doctor take this patient to his/her room and do vital signs on this patient, If doctor give an order to give and electrocardiogram this will be my responsibilities.
