A Short Story

Eva Evelyn sighed as she watched friends waving to others to join them. Eva smiled at this. After all, she knew that she did this as well and from an observers point of view it WAS funny to watch as friends talked to each other as if there was no tomorrow. She sighed as she became captive in her own memories.


“EVAA!!!” A voice whined. “WHY is it AMWAYS me who needs to come over here! I had the BEST view of the trash can! You could actually SEE the recycling sign on it! (Not like anyone recycles around here.)” He finished the last sentence under his breath, in hopes that the brunette beside him didn’t hear. Unfortunately, she did.
“Kevin! That is NOT how to promote the idea of going green! We NEED to recycle in order to help the environment! In order to do THAT you need a good attitude – and that SIR, is NOT a good attitude!” The brunette snapped and stomped away.
“Man that woman is feisty.” Kevin muttered.
“Go after her Kev.” Eva said. “You know you love Maria. She loves you Kevin, but wants you to go to her.”
“How do you know I love her?”
“I have eyes and YOU just TOLD me that you LOVE her.”
“Dang it!”
“Go Kev. NOW.”
“Fine.”

Behind Eva, a crashing sound caused her to jump and turn around and saw a boy around her age looking at her shyly. "Sorry bout that." He muttered.

Smiling, Eva just helped him clean up the mess. "It's okay, I'm new here, so yeah...."
